Date of registration: 15 May 1905. It is the oldest organisation registered under the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009.
The organisation is governed by the Executive Council, comprising of the President, Vice-President, four National Councillors and Delegates elected by and from members in the following Industries:
- Port Authorities Industry
- Private Port Services Industry
- Ferries and Tourism Industry
- Offshore Energy Industry
- Seagoing Industry
- Towage Industry, and
- Pilotage Industry
The National Office submits a single financial report for the entire organisation.
