United Voice and the Australian Education Union (Victorian Branch) applied for an Equal Remuneration Order. The Independent Education Union of Australia lodged an additional application for an Equal Remuneration Order.

A further application was made under section 158 of the Fair Work Act 2009 by the Independent Education Union of Australia to vary the Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2010.
These applications were dealt with by a Full Bench of the Fair Work Commission as the Equal Remuneration and Work Value Case.
